How BESTB4 works

Three things to know.

1. We're the importer, not a middleman

BESTB4 is run by an established Irish grocery import and distribution business. The same warehouse that supplies supermarkets and shops across Ireland is where your order ships from.

That cuts out an entire layer of supply-chain markup. Supermarket retail prices include the supermarket's margin, the wholesaler's margin and our importer margin. Buying direct from the importer means you skip the first two — straight away that's a 20–40% reduction. The remaining discount comes from the BBD angle below.

2. We sell our overstock direct

When distribution at scale generates surplus — too much imported, stock that retailers couldn't accept onto the shelf in time, or product approaching its best-before date — that stock goes onto BESTB4 instead of being written off.

You see the best-before date clearly on every product page. The closer to the date, the bigger the discount.

3. We ship nationwide to anyone

One-off household order? Welcome. Weekly café restock? Welcome. Wholesale pallet for a shop? Get in touch — we'll set you up with trade pricing.

Standard delivery is €4.95, free on orders over €100. Most orders arrive in 2–3 working days via An Post or DPD.

Frequently asked questions

Is the food safe?
Yes. Best-before is a quality date, not a safety one. Tinned, dry, sealed and packaged goods are safe well past their best-before. Use-by items (chilled) we treat differently — they ship fast and with plenty of date left. The FSAI confirms this distinction.

Why is the price so low?
Two reasons. (a) You're buying direct from the importer, skipping wholesaler + retailer margins. (b) The stock is near or approaching its best-before, so we'd rather sell it on at a discount than write it off.

Same product as the supermarket?
Yes. Same brand, same factory, often the same box. We're the people who put it on the supermarket shelf.
